2003 Chevy Suburban
 
The 2003 Chevrolet Suburban comes in two trim levels, the LS and the LT in both 2WD and 4WD. For this year, the Chevrolet Suburban continues to be a top competitor in the full-size SUV segment with a number of new features. The LS and the more upscale LT trim offers swing out rear cargo doors or a liftgate with opening glass. A third row bench seat is standard while front side airbags now a $350 option.
Standard on the Suburban are antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, automatic transmission with Tow/Haul mode, and a V8 engine. A new option for the 5.3-liter models is Stabilitrak antiskid system while GM's new Quadrasteer 4-wheel steering is newly available for 6.0-liter Suburban 2500s. The Quadrasteer is designed to enhance stability at higher speeds and when towing as well as reduce the turning circle at low speeds.
 
Another new option available for the LT option package are power-adjustable pedals as well as turn-signal lights for the power door mirrors. Also, turn-signal lights for the power door mirrors. For entertainment, a DVD rear-seat entertainment system and XM satellite radio are offered as options. Performance-wise, the 2003 Chevy Suburban has a Vortec 5.3-liter V8 that pumps out 285 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 325 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.
 
Other new features introduced for 2003 include Dual-level air bags, Passenger-sensing system, Tri-zone climate control with manual controls for LS and Z71, and electronic controls for LT, Enhanced driver information center can report on as many as 34 system functions - more than any vehicle in its class, power camper mirrors (optional) including power-adjust, power-extend and heat, new exterior color choices such as Sandalwood Metallic and Dark Spiral Gray Metallic and a new center console
