1971 Chevy Suburban
The 1971 Chevrolet Suburban featured a quartet of V8 engines from 1969: three
350s with outputs ranging from 255 to 350 horsepower and a 396 with 310 hp but
with more torque. Carryovers from the previous model years include such options
as tilt steering wheel and a stereo radio with eight-track player. A newly available
automatic transmission was also introduced in this year. For 1971, a new egg crate
grille enhanced the front end of the Suburban. Aside from this, new trim level
names were introduced ranging from the base Custom, to the mid-level Custom Deluxe,
up to the Cheyenne.
